About Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps

Founded in 2009 by Chris Magonigal, Genesis has consistently achieved artistic and performance excellence, and is recognized as an exceptional and quality-driven group. Our inclusion of leadership curriculum inspired by top training methodologies used in corporate America helps us provide the educational, cultural, interpersonal, physical and emotional growth necessary for our young people to become leaders. Genesis employs some the most talented design and instructional professionals in the country, who design programs that over 150 talented performers convey through a powerful, athletic and artistic performance.

Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps holds a deep-seated philosophy of Education Through Performance.

Our mission is to provide life enriching experiences to our youth through the medium of the marching arts.

Important Note:

All media requests need to be sent to the Marketing and Events Director at least 48 hours in advance. In order to prioritize the safety of our performers, staff and volunteers, all rehearsals are closed to media personnel who have not received approval to be on premises. If you are found on premises without approval, you will be asked to leave. All video, audio and photography is prohibited without approval from the Corps Director and Director of Marketing.

  • Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps (DBC) was founded in 2009 in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas.
  • Genesis DBC moved to Austin, Texas in 2013 to be more centrally located.
  • Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps was founded as an Open Class Corps, but was approved for competition in World Class in 2017.
  • Genesis DBC has qualified for Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championship Finals every year the organization has fielded a group.
