New FENIXgear Merchandise Available

The Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps FENIXgear store added new merchandise selections available for purchase today.

Previously, we used our online store to re-sell used equipment and uniforms. The summer has always been the drum corps’ prime time to sell merchandise. In light of the summer tour cancellation, pivoting the store online moved up on the priority list.

“We always enjoy seeing Genesis fans and families at our merchandise booth during the summer. Even though we can’t see everyone, we’re excited to give them access to designs our team’s been working on,” Chris Magonigal, CEO reflects.

Offerings include hoodies, hats, jackets, and more. All proceeds from the store go toward the organization’s operating expenses. Visit our store to see the new options today!

March Camp Canceled Amid Coronavirus Concerns

March Camp Canceled Amid Coronavirus Concerns

In light of the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, we are paying close attention to developments surrounding the virus and how it may affect Genesis DBC operations. As more information is revealed, we have prepared to make any changes to plans and procedures to continue our mission of prioritizing the health and wellness of our performers, volunteers, and staff.

At the time that we are posting this, the threat level for COVID-19 in Austin, TX is low, however  South by Southwest (SXSW)— the music festival scheduled for March 13-22, 2020— has been canceled.

In light of this decision by the city of Austin, the Genesis DBC administrative team has come to the decision that it is appropriate to cancel the rehearsal camp scheduled for March 13-15, 2020.

We encourage everyone to educate themselves on COVID-19 and best practices for preventing the spread of the virus. What we know about COVID-19 is that it’s spread from person to person, so we will continue to put emphasis on:

  • Regular hand-washing with soap and warm water
  • Refraining from touching the face and mouth
  • Discouraging sharing food and beverages

We are following official sources for our updates, and we recommend that you bookmark these to remain informed:

The CDC provides daily updates that we will continue to follow and use to inform our decisions. We will notify all Genesis DBC performers, families, and staff of any further changes immediately. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email at [email protected].
